have read my share of YA paranormal. I have read everything from: angels, vampires, pixie's, Greek gods, banshees, witches, and all those that fall in-between. But my personal favorite has always been shape shifting werewolves. Come on people, I have been a dog lover since forever. My son's nursery theme was puppies and sports. (Had to have sports in their for daddy's sanity). So yes, I love werewolves. When I came across this series a while back, OMG! I read the whole thing in a week. I couldn't put it down. I loved all the characters. It is now a 9 book series. Quinn Lofts has come out with two more books since then. I am currently rereading them all for the - honestly I don't remember how many times I have read through them - for you ALL.
If you mix Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Teen wolf paranormal plots with the humor and quick wit of Gilmore Girls THIS IS your book.
Let us put a few things into perspective. This is a YA NOVEL! So if you think falling in love the moment you see the person is weird, (love-at-first-sight) this isn't a book for you. Heck this isn't really a genre for you.
The one thing I love about this book is the feistiness Jacque has. Her fire-red-hair is true to her strong personality. She doesn't mess around and says what is on her mind, most of the time. Fane and she can share mental thoughts. That is how they first speak to one another.
Fane speaks English and Romanian. He uses many Romanian terms of endearment for Jacque. As the reader we would have no idea what he was saying, but Quinn put a translation of the phrase or word in parenthesis. I am very grateful for that.
English - Romanian
I love you - Te Iubesc
Yes - Da
Father - Tata
Son - Fiu
Moon - Lună
Mine - Mina
My Heart - inima mea
Yes , my heart - Da, meu inima
My Heart, Please do not worry - inima mea vă rugăm să nu vă faceți griji
Silence - Tăcere
I have something I need you to do - Am somethign am nevoie de tine să faci
You violated Challenge Rules - ai încălcat regulile joc
ally and Jen are Jacque's best friend. They are all attached to each other hips and stick up for one another. Their humor and quick wit is SO FUNNY. They have snarky comments and use pop-culture reference like it is natural. Jen is the dirtier one with her insinuations regarding sex. Sally is the level headed one. She keeps the group grounded. The three girls - my personal A.K.A (Las Tres Amigas) - is what the entire series revolves around. Each girl and her significant other have 2 books about them. Though you still get tones of tension and fun insight on the other couples.
It is a must read. You will truly enjoy it. I sure did.
mild swearing, insinuations of sex, couple making-out/kissing, heavy on the sassiness
